| ADVANTAGES
OF IMPLANT TREATMENT
The
advantages of an implant treatment compared to
other treatments or solutions (removable prostheses,
bridges, etc) are various.
To follow we highlight the most relevant:
Implant
= solution for life. We can say that
“an implant is for the rest of your life”.
The technique and the materials used nowadays
ensure a full guarantee that in normal circumstances
a tooth mounted upon an implant will never “fall
out”.
As
we have already commented, the implant replaces
the natural root of the tooth, obtaining a fully
satisfactory result, as we can say with confidence
that a tooth mounted upon an implant is just like
a natural tooth (same aesthetic, same robustness,
etc).
The
implant provides greater comfort
to the patient as it is just like having a natural
tooth (or several natural teeth) avoiding all
the discomfort of the other solutions (prosthesis,
removable prostheses, bridges, etc).
The
implant does not damage either the healthy
tissue or the bone. In fact, with the
passage of time and when exposed to “pressure”
(mastication) all the other solutions lose stability
causing damage to the tissues and the bone. They
may even cause problems with speech.
The
implant provides greater chewing capacity,
as we have already said, by providing greater
“robustness” which consequently facilitates
and grants better chewing capacity.
The
implant improves aesthetics,
without doubt no matter how well done a removable
prosthesis or bridge it will never have the same
aesthetic as that which an implant can provide,
an aesthetic we could almost call perfect.
